RTA isn't bound to a specific theoretical framework (for instance phenomenology) but once you've decided which theoretical framework to read your data through, or establish broad themes to explore, then you're not concerned with every other RTA framework or approach - just your own.

Mostly, I'd just ensure there aren't other analysis approaches more adapted to your research question and field - eg, framework analysis.
