Great point! The discussion we’ve been having on Twitter has largely focused on how, as a community, we maybe lack a better shared “history of ideas”, enabling people who’ve been trained and educated with primarily ‘third wave’ concepts and ideas (like I was) to understand how it fits into the larger history of HCI and what it inherits from this. There’s actually a lot of resources on DCog in the linked sources (notably the piece from the interaction design foundation). But I’ll make sure to reference an overview paper on situated action/distributed cognition/activity theory.
